Avery and Her Biggest Fans

Avery had her first soccer game on Saturday. She was SO CUTE!! Are you allowed to call soccer players cute??? Well she totally was! The way that they play indoor soccer at this age is that all of the kids get to play all the positions. I think her strong position was a power forward. She ran after the ball with everything she had each time. The funniest thing was that her Uncle Jay (a semi-professional soccer player in his own right) came to watch her and got really upset when she was playing defense because she and the other little boy that we assigned to defense took it really seriously and stood on the line in front of the goal and did not move! Another thing they do with kids this age in indoor play is that the parents form a "wall" on either end of the field. Jeff informed me that since I was pregnant at NO time was he to see me as part of the "wall". Huh! As if!! That is where all the action is and where you can get the best pictures! Here are some that I got from the game. Lillie was Avery's own personal cheerleader and was so excited when Avery would run around on the court. In fact when Lillie walked onto the field at half time (mind you that they play 6 minute quarters!) one of the other Mom's was like "Is she is half-time show?!". Rog and Ashley (Jay's girlfriend) were also there to cheer Avery on and Jay and Ashley decided to make it a weekly event to come and see Avery play! It was so much fun to have them there. And Rog being Rog, took us all to lunch to celebrate!
