Thanksgiving 2008

The whole clan went up to Wichita for Thanksgiving to spend it with Sitie and Aunt O. Jeff and I drove up with the kids on Tuesday evening. Now, let me tell you, the notion that we need to get out and have a break to eat and let the girls run around is nice but not when you are feeding an infant too. OK so we got stuck in 4pm traffic and it took us almost a hour and a half to get 40 miles. We stopped to eat just outside of Denton (we had hopes of making it to Two Frogs Grill further down 35 but no such luck) and I fed Grafton and the girls and Jeff played checkers at Cracker Barrel. We then went inside to eat and the entire stop took 2 hours so by the time we got back on the road, it was soon time for Grafton to eat again. Let's just say that we left our house at 4pm and rolled into Wichita at 12:45am!! Luckily the ride back was much smoother and only took 6 1/2 hours with one stop in Norman. Much more the way to go! We had a wonderful time and really enjoyed our mini vacation. Great food, good company and lots of laughs!

Grafton has just started smiling in response to people.....he loved his Uncle Jay!
Avery took this picture. Cards are big in our Wichita family!

You were so close to me!! If you make it back to Wichita again, you have to let me know. It is only a 3 hour drive for us, and it is where my parents live. I love being able to stay caught up with you via the blog. Your kids are darling, and best wishes on the 2 year old thing. Yikes!! I get to go thru that so soon, Calvin is well on his way (2 in about 6 weeks).
